Background[]
Warner Independent Pictures (a.k.a. WiP) have been established on August 7, 2003 as the indie-film division of Warner Bros. Pictures that specializes both in production and distribution of independent and arthouse movies.
On November 12, 2008, after TimeWarner had acquired New Line Cinema, Warner Independent Pictures, just like Picturehouse Films, have been closed.
Logo[]
(2004-2008): The WB shield logo appears on a black background. Then, after a second, the shield and the B fade out leaving the W. The W moves to the right until stopping in the middle of the screen. A red light glows and forms a dot above the second stem of the W as "WARNER INDEPENDENT PICTURES" wipes in below with "INDEPENDENT" in red. The byline "A TimeWarner Company" fades in seconds later.
Variant[]
Sometimes, the logo is black and white, making both the dot and the "INDEPENDENT" to be silver coloured.
Music/Sounds[]
None or just the opening theme of the movie. Sometimes, a majestic tune plays over the logo.
Scare Factor[]
Minimal. This can catch some off-guard with the dark atmosphere and the dot's appearance, but this is quite a harmless logo.
