Background[]

Vajala Marakaan Films was an Indian (fan-made) Telugu-language film company that specialized in releasing horror, drama and sci-fi films.

Logos[]

1st logo (1973-1980)[]

Over a moving hellish-red cloud background, we see Telugu text "వాజల మరకాన్ ఫిల్మ్స్" zoom in. Then, we some lightning appear, followed by "Vajala Marakaan Films" appearing below the Telugu text. Then, the lightning appears again.

Variants[]

  • Depending on the film quality, the logo could be darker.
  • Earlier releases had the logo in black and white.
  • On Ḍet Yokka An̄cu (Edge of Death), the logo is more red.

2nd logo (1980-1985)[]

We see smoke moving from left to right. Once the smoke cools down, the lights get brighter and we see a religious statue with flowers surrounding it. On both sides are 2 candles, both lit, and on the pedestal, we see some Telugu text. The lights then gets slightly brighter as the text "VAJALA MARAKAN FILMS" zooms in from the pedestal.

3rd logo (1992; 2008)[]

On a moving space background, we see Telugu text zoom out. After zooming out, the background fades into the last logo (without the company name). Then, "VAJALA MARAKAN FILMS" fades in below the Telugu text.

Music/Sounds[]

[]

A loud, bombastic fanfare, followed by stock lightning effects that can also be heard in the BBC Sound Library and other logos such as from Southern Star/Hanna Barbera Australia, Lightning Video and 786 DS Films.

Music/Sounds Variants[]

The volume of the music also changes depending on the film quality.

[]

An orchestra that is the same as that of Sham Ralhan Productions, but at a slightly higher pitch.

[]

A mellow sitar tune.

Scare Factor[]

1st logo[]

Depending on these variants:

  • High to nightmare. The loud, ear-splitting, bombastic fanfare will scare a lot of people. The hellish red clouds, zooming text and lightning also don't help, either. However, this was clearly intentional due to the company releasing mostly horror films.
  • Nightmare to Off The Scale for the Ḍet Yokka An̄cu variant. The louder audio and darker, redder atmosphere makes this logo worse.

2nd logo[]

Low to medium. If you don't like the Sham Ralhan Productions logo because of the chorus, it may creep you out, but it's very vibrant and colourful, and much tamer than the last logo.

3rd logo[]

None.
