Logo 1: (1984-1996, 1999)
On a blue-black background, we see a white square with bits of pink, and sea green. On it, we see an abstract book, with the words: "Criterion" in an Aleo font in silver. Then, it fades to black.
- Sometimes, it would be on a black background with a gray shadow.
- There's one variant on a black background where there's small text that read: "Criterion Collection: A joint venture between Janus Film and Voyager Express.
Logo 2: (1994)
On a black background, we see the word "Criterion" in red and in an Impact font, turn to it's left. Then, the background becomes light gray and has names of movies, sliding slowly to the left. Then, it cuts to black.
Logo 3: (1995)
On a gray background, we see a LaserDisc spin rapidly. Then it explodes, and we see the book from the first logo, in black. The text from the second logo, but with a white shadow, flips around and stops next to the book. Then, it fades to black.
Logo 4: (1997-1999)
On a black background, we see a semi circle like shape holding a C, with another C (a la Comedy Central). Above and Below it are Criterion and Collection in a Times New Roman like font. The entire logo is white.
- There's a variant where it's zoomed in.
Logo 5: (2000-2006)
On a black background, we see the text: "THE CRITERION COLLECTION" in white. Then, a line in white wipes in from left to right.
- The logo is in both 4:3 and 16:9.
Logo 6: (2007-)
On a black background, we see four Cs spin. Then, the words: "the criterion collection" in white morph into the Cs. Then, the Cs stop, to form one C tilted at an angle.
The sounds of a disc spinning, an explosion, and a choir similar to the Surround Sound logo.
None to Low. Although the silence can get to people, it's fine.
Low. It's fine, but nothing compared to...
Medium to Nightmare. The loud noises, the explosion, and spinning LaserDisc will either, track off guard, or scare.
Medium for both variants. Although it's ugly, it's tamer than the last logo.
Low to Medium. Though, the darkness can get to some.
