reason: Bloody skeleton is bit gruesome so view it at your own risk.

Screamtime Films is an independent horror film production company and distributor. The company was originally founded in 1992 by Todd Jason Cook as Horroscope Films. Under it's original name, the company did not use a logo, instead having just an in-credit notice at both the beginning and at the end of their releases. In 2005, the company rebranded under it's current name. They specialize in indie and low-budget horror films (along with a few non-horror films) and accepts submissions from the public for distribution through VHS, DVD, and instant video. As of 2023, the company is still actively producing and distributing films.

Logos[]

1st logo (2005-)[]

Screamtime films inc.

On a pitch black background, there is a very gruesome image of a skeleton with eyes covered completely in blood from the torso up. The skeleton is on the far left of the screen with a pool of blood right next to it. On the right of the screen is "SCREAMTIME FILMS" written in a scary and bloody font with the "S" and the "F" much bigger than the rest of the company's name.

Variants[]

  • The font of the logo may vary such as one in a more stylized horror font.
    • In other cases, the first letter of both words are replaced with that from aforementioned variant.
  • The size of the skeleton may also vary. Sometimes, the full shot of it is seen while other times it is more closer.
    • One version of the former variant has the skeleton missing a piece of its body under its rib cage.
    • Plus, on one trailer, the text is smaller and about a third bigger than the skeleton's head.
  • At the end of 2000's trailers promoting the DVD releases of their movies, the logo is cropped to where the skeleton's shoulders are seen and the company name is in one line. "ALSO AVAILABLE FROM:" and "www.screamtimefilms.com" appears on top and underneath the logo respectively.

2nd logo (2009-)[]

Screamtime Films

On a black background, blood splatters all over the screen from the left with the head of the same skeleton sliding in the same direction. Shortly after, this shot crossfades to the company name "SCREAMTIME FILMS" in the same font as the first logo's alternate font variant with blood spilling and covering much of the screen. The screen cuts to black and then the aforementioned head and text appears with the latter on the right and with blood dripping from the top albeit in a smaller amount as before.

Variants[]

  • An early version has the final shot of both the head and text missing.
  • On Curse of the Slasher Nurse, the final shot is replaced with the Slasher 15 Media logo.
  • On DVD trailers, the text "NOW Available on DVD" and the company's website is shown at the beginning of the logo.
  • Pontastic Motion Pictures LTD.'s unused version has the different plot where it originally began at blood dripping where the company name has to be revealed later on, it cuts to black and blood splatters all over the screen from the left with the head of the same skeleton sliding in the same direction with a company name appeared on the right fading in as the blood splatter is fading out to black. Once it completed, the same blood dripping from the top albeit in a smaller amount as before.

Logo Variations[]

These are the logo variations seen throughout the years by Screamtime Films, with more to be added overtime.

Pros and Cons (2009): On the 2020 trailer, the logo is blue and the skeleton is holding a jug of beer. He speaks at the audience "Kick back, relax, and enjoy" in a relaxed tone with the camera zooming into his face before saying the last word. At the end of the trailer, the same variation is seen but with the skeleton saying "It's our first non-horror movie".

Another Evil Night (2017): On the 2020 DVD trailers, the skeleton, alongside the text, falls down while on a skateboard. Plus, the skeleton is wearing a face mask with blood splattered over it.

Super 8 Horror Films (2019): On the 2020 trailer, the logo is superimposed onto a projector screen. Seen at the middle and end of the trailer.

29 Years of Original Indie Films (2021): The text "29 YEARS" in a different bloody font zooms in underneath the company name. The skeleton says "29 years, motherf***ers! Holy s***! Thanks for keeping us alive!" with the cuss words bleeped. When saying the last sentence, a close up of his face is shown with the company's website provided underneath. At the end of the video, the logo, in the same look as the Pros and Cons trailer variant, the skeleton burps while the screen zooms in.

Dracula's Bride of Horror (2022): On the trailer, Dracula's lips is pasted over the skeleton's mouth.

Music/Sounds[]

[]

None or the opening theme of the film.

Music/Sounds Variant[]

Sometimes, woman screaming loud in terror is heard, which increases the scare factor, because of that scream was too loud.

[]

Blood splattering and the same scream from before, followed by a suspenseful horror sting and guts falling to the ground, which gets cut by two heart beats.

Music/Sounds Variants[]

  • On the aforementioned shortened variant, only one heart beat is heard.
  • On Return of the Slasher Nurse, the audio is louder with the horror sting amplified. Several light buzzes can also be heard at the end.
  • On Pontastic Motion Pictures' unused version, It starts with the suspenseful horror sting and guts falling to the ground, which gets cut by a heart beat. Then, the blood splattering and the blood dripping at the end.

Scare Factor[]

1st logo[]

Depending on each variant:

Original variant: High to nightmare. As the logo was first discovered in 2023, this logo has a notorious reputation as one of the scariest still logos of all-time alongside Erry Vision Films, due to how gruesome the skeleton looks, the darkness, disturbing subject matter and the blood splatter at the left. But it is lowered for those who are fans of their films. Of course this was intentional as the company specializes the horror. However, it's nothing compared to the Zombified variant where it has a screaming sound...

Zombified variant: Nightmare. It is worsened by the fact there is an ear-piercing scream which will scare a lot of first-time viewers and likely hurt one of many sensitive people's ears. The fact that everything is retained from the original variant alongside this doesn't help.

Pros & Cons trailer variants: Low to high, The creepy looking skeleton is still there, but it is now blue holding a beer and saying one of two lines rather comedically, one being "kick back, relax, and enjooooy!" the second being "It's our first non-horror movie!". These two variants are clearly supposed to be comedic and the brightening of the colors and tone alongside the skeleton comedically holding a beer make this significantly tamer than the last 2 variants.

Another Evil Night trailer variant: Low to high, the creepy skeleton and the text is still here once again with a face mask and a skateboard over it, it is supposed to be intentional as we had to stay home during the pandemic making it little bit tamer.

Super 8 Horror Films variant: Medium to high, the skeleton and text are still there yet again but the background is brightened up and there is a man (presumably the company owner) talking over the logo making it much tamer than the first two variants.

29 Years of Original Indie Films beginning variant: Low to nightmare, we still have the elements of the original variant but we now have comedic dialogue to help tame things quite a bit, some may find it funny of how the skeleton swears at beginning even though this was bleeped out (it was done to prevent getting age-restricted or demonetized on the original video).

29 Years of Original Indie Films ending variant: Medium to high, it is the brightened version with the beer again but the skeleton just burps, possibly startling people. However, it's supposed to be funny for some who handled the humor.

Dracula's Bride of Horror trailer variant: Medium to high, we still have the elements retained from Zombified variant except that the Dracula's lips is pasted over the skeleton's mouth making it funny to some. However, the scare factor rises again with the next logo...

2nd logo[]

Depending on each variant:

Original version: Nightmare, The blood splatter and head from same skeleton as the previous logo and same scream from before could freak-out many, and the blood dripping and horror sting only make matters worse. Again this was intentional due to fact the company still specializes the horror.

Unused version: High to nightmare. It is still likely to scare a lot of people because of blood dripping and splattering but thankfully, the loud scream is absent.
