Before you begin, here are some rules that you should follow.
User Rules
- To combat vandalism, you are required to have an account to be able to contribute to this wiki. You must be 13 or over to have an account.
- In addition, you should only have one account. Don't make another account if you have one unless you are no longer able to access it for any reason.
- When creating an account, make sure its username is appropriate. Usernames with offensive words or NSFW content are not allowed. If you have a username with that content, you will be asked to change it. If you can't or won't, you will be blocked indefinitely and will have to come back on a new account that has an appropriate name.
- Don't create an account with a similar username to another user. This is called impersonation.
- Please be nice to other users and respectful to admins.
- This means no racial, sexual or religious discrimination. People of ANY religion, ANY sexuality and ANY gender can edit this wiki.
- Don't send threats to other users. This includes death threats, grounded/punishment day threats, and threatening to send people to a logo. Death threats can actually get you arrested in real life, and the other types of threats don't actually work. If you tell somebody they're grounded online, they aren't actually grounded in real life. Same goes for punishment days. Telling people they are going to be grounded or have a punishment day is therefore completely pointless. Just like grounded threats, sent-to-logo threats also never work, because logos are just pictures or videos. Other sent-to threats have included Minecraft, Playmobil the Movie, Scratch, and the Koopalings' Airship from Mario. Please don't say somebody is going to be sent to something because they won't and you'll make a fool of yourself.
- Don't spam or vandalize this wiki, please.
- This includes adding gibberish, whether it's a category, page title, message or something in a page. It will be deleted.
- This also includes adding any kind of spam category. Spam categories are defined in the category guidelines. We had a massive issue with this and it was part of the reason why this wiki was so bad before 2020. If you are found adding these, you will be warned, and if you continue you will be banned.
- Badge farming is also considered vandalism and will not be tolerated. For those who don't know, "badge farming" is when someone makes abusive/useless edits to cheat their way to the top of the leaderboard, usually by adding thousands of spam categories to pages. If we catch you doing this, we'll have to block you indefinitely to hide your score from the leaderboard.
- Please don't swear unless it's minor (damn, piss and crap for example).
- If you want to add swearing on your userpage, please censor it.

- Don't put any political references or political messages on this wiki, including references of Godwin's Law. Godwin's Law is comparing something (typically anything personally or actually bad) to some of the worst people in history, most notably the Nazi Party and Adolf Hitler.
Content Rules
- Most of the pages on here will be about logos, but there are some exceptions; see Scary Logos Wiki:Allowed and Disallowed Pages.
- Don't add the category and template "Candidates for deletion" on random pages. If you want to add that category, please add it on pages that are NOT logos, empty/very short, duplicates, or that can lead to spam/vandalism and anything else unrelated to this wiki; make sure to give a reason why you think a page should be deleted, and an administrator will delete the page if it violates any rule.
- When adding a scare factor, please give the logo, ID, or trailer an appropriate scare factor and give specific reasons why; a list of scare factors can be found here. Don't make it too ridiculous or stupid; hellish, horror, heart attack, chill, fright, death, video game, deadly, evil, satanic, hypernightmare, SUPER DUPER ULTRA MEGA NIGHTMARE, etc. are not scare factors.
- The limit is nightmare; please don't make a scare factor higher than that.
- If you don't agree with the scare factors on a page, don't change it. You can however, tell us what your personal scare on a certain logo right here.
- Don't go on random pages and say that their scare factors are none, and that if people are scared of it, then they're cowardly. This ALSO has happened before right here. If it scares you and nobody else, try to average out the scare factor. If it doesn't scare you, just say, "However, it's lower for those used to seeing it." NEVER tease people for their fears.
- This also applies for assuming that every logo/ID is rated "nightmare".
- Don't add the same photos/videos twice or more on one page please. That's just stupid and causes spam and vandalism.
- Unless it relates to a logo, please don't put in inappropriate/NSFW photos/videos/GIFs please.
- If a logo's image is NSFW, shrink it to 40x40 or censor it if it has nudity. However, you MUST use the Mature template.
- On pages with logos that are considered unsuitable for minors, seizure inducing or loud, please give out a warning at the top of the page with a template of said warnings.
- No fanon material allowed (except for dream logos and WNRs).
- Please don't copy information directly from AVID (formerly known as the CLG Wiki); it is considered plagiarism. Pages should follow the structure outlined in Scary Logos Wiki:Page Setup to combat this.
- If there is a spam filter on an article in this wiki, report it here; if there is too much spam and vandalism on this wiki, report those here and here.
- Don't make up your own rules for this wiki. THESE are the main rules for Scary Logos Wiki.
- Try not to make typos. If it helps, put what you wrote into a spell checker before posting it here; if you find a typo on a page, correct it.
- Don't relate ANYTHING on this wiki from ANY TV show, but especially MLP (My Little Pony), VeggieTales, kids' shows (such as Caillou and Sesame Street) and object shows (like Battle for Dream Island and Inanimate Insanity) unless the logo relates to these shows. We are specifically requesting these three because during the vandalism era of the wiki they were the most common. My Little Pony and VeggieTales were getting lumped into each other and some articles had wrong information, such as the Disney Fast Play page saying Shining Armour watched it at night and woke up Bob the Tomato, which was fictional and not suited for the wiki. The templates and categories also used to be BFDI themed during that era as well.
- Don't relate everything with GoAnimate (Vyond) either, unless it's a dream logo.
- If your video or VHS opening has a logo that you can't find anywhere else as its own video, we will allow that. Make sure to write the timestamp, though. Once the main logo from that video is found, the other will have to be rejected. Logo history videos are allowed as well, but they have to be on their relevant pages.
- You are allowed to add videos that are not related to logos on your profile as long as they're not inappropriate; for example, a song you like to listen to, a compilation video or a video you like to watch.
- No cartoon characters/fictional characters either please. There have been many background characters from shows such as VeggieTales, BFDI and My Little Pony on this wiki and we don't want them on here again.
- Scary Logos Wiki is an English-language wiki; other languages are only permitted if they're part of the logo.
- If you can't speak English, put your text in any translating app (such as Google Translate) and translate it to English (note that translating apps like Google Translate aren’t always accurate, so you may expect some errors).
- If you find a dead video (a video that can't play because it's unavailable, private or the user who uploaded it had their channels terminated/closed), then please remove it, because it's disappointing to somebody who actually wants to see it and end up with that screen.
- Unless it's one of your dream logos, please don't relate anything to Polandball. For those of you who don't know, Polandball (or countryballs) is a ball cartoon that became popular. It originally just focused on countries, but now, it focuses on many more, such as cartoon show/character (cartoonballs), companies (companyballs) and planets (planetballs).
- Don't just assume everything is owned by a certain company (such as Viacom). That's just pure stupid and can easily give out false information.
- Please do not put stuff such as "Watch if you dare!" as the video heading; this was an issue brought up on Rotten Websites Wiki. Even if the logo is legitimately scary, please just put "Video".
- When writing a page, please don't Start Every Word With A Capital Like This, Because It Gets Annoying And Is Hard To Read. It is not considered an acceptable style of writing.
- You can connect your dream logos to other real logos if you want, but you can't connect the real logos with your dream logos, as dream logos are fictional content.
- Fanmade/Dream logos that could ruin childhoods, have inappropriate content, shoehorn franchises that are reminiscent of spam categories, and have too much blood & gore or violence are no longer allowed, so don't add these types of fanmade/dream logos.
If you break these rules once, we will give you a warning; if you break them multiple times you will be blocked, possibly forever.
