Background[]
Remedy Corporation is a Scottish film/television company formed in 1992, as one of the successors to Thames Television, but was founded in Wales as BBC Wales, as 73% of the company was owned by BBC, and the rest 26% was owned by ITV. By 1994, It was renamed to Remedy Corporation, after Remedy-Johnson Industries (Now BBC Scotland), a Scottish-British mass media company, bought ITV's share. By 2006, it's HQ moved to Bannockburn, Scotland. In 2021, JP Corporation closed, so NancerMetropolotian had to acquire JP's share, before NMP was renamed NancerMedia in the same year.
Logos[]
1st logo (1992-1996)[]
Similar to the 1990 BBC "Streaks of Death" Logo, but the text "Wales" fads in, as the BBC text fades in. Everything seems normal, except the Wales text.
2nd logo (1996-1997)[]
On a rapidly flashing white and red background, we see an oddly shaped 5 side shape zoom in (a la Ear Booker Productions), with the letters R, E, M, E, D, and Y in red and white, in a Arial Black flash with the background. Then, we see the same shape in white on a red background spin with a light gray "R" to a wall, where the shape crashes, and leaves a black copy of the shape. Then, the R shrinks into the shape. The words: "Remedy Releasing" in a Verdana font, the font used for BBC since 1997, slides from the left. Then, it glitches to black.
3rd logo (1997-2011)[]
On a purple night sky background, we see a white aurora move across the screen. It then draws the shape from the previous logo, as an outline. Then, a red firework explodes, and fills in the shape. The aurora then draws the word: "Remedy" in the same font as the Wales text in the BBC Wales (BBC Gothic). A byline that reads, "A Division of the British Broadcasting Corporation", fades in, in an MS Gothic font.
Variant[]
- Starting in 2000, The Remedy text has changed color from White to red. also, the aurora does not draw the text. Also, the font for the byline has changed to Verdana.
4th logo (2012-2019)[]
We see a metal version of the R from the second logo, zoom out while spinning slowly. Then, we see a ruby version the shape. The text, "Remedy Releasing" in Cursive, formed from a light gray ribbon. The shape stops moving, and fades to black. The entire logo takes place on a red stage curtain.
Variants[]
- Starting in 2014, the byline, "A Division of BBC Scotland" in Ravie fades in, in lavender.
- Starting on March 26, 2012, there were pillars added on the bottom of the R and shape.
5th logo (2019-2021)[]
On a black background, we see a huge version of the shape, with a red outline. Then, it bursts into white. We see the shape again, but white in a red square (a la Wild Horse Productions). The text, "Remedy Releasing" in FF Blur slides in slowly into the square. Then, it fades to black.
- Starting in 2020, the shape is in a circle, and the Remedy Releasing text took out the word Releasing, leaving it as Remedy. Also, the font for the text changed to Bauhaus 93.
6th Logo (2021-Present)[]
We fade in to the shape, now dark red, before it zooms out to show it next to the word "REMEDY". Then, the logo fades to bright red, with the shape in a box like the last logo. Then, one by one, the letters "R E L E A S I N G" comes out of the right, with the bottom of the screen showing water (which kinda looks like blood). Then, the text "A NANCERMEDIA COMPANY" fades in. Then, a small fade goes from the y to the shape, before fading to black.
Music/Sounds[]
1st logo[]
The same as the 1990 BBC logo.
2nd logo[]
The logo starts off with an ear piercing scream from a woman, followed by a whoosh played twenty times, but sped up by 2x, a loud crash, as the shape crashes through the wall, a whoosh as the R zooms out, and xylophone is heard when the text starts appearing.
3rd logo[]
It starts with a fire sound effect, then transitions into a 36-Note choir, sung by long time opera performer, Charles Anthony. As the text and byline appears, it's an 8-Note xylophone tune.
4th logo[]
None.
5th logo[]
It's a 3-Note keyboard tune, that transitions into a whoosh.
6th logo[]
A rendition of the last logo, but the notes are deeper, and a long deep note with some waves are played throughout.
Scare Factor:[]
1st logo[]
Low to medium. The appearance of the 1990 BBC Logo can startle some, but it's fine. But nothing compared to...
2nd logo[]
High to nightmare. The flashing, the spinning, the sounds, and in your face animation will none or less, will terrify other peoples The flashing can give epileptic people seizures. And most of all, the logo is very badly animated.
3rd logo[]
None to Minimal. This logo is well animated, has nice sounds, and is much tamer than the previous logo.
4th logo[]
None. The logo is smooth, great, and beautiful.
5th logo[]
Same as the 1st Logo. The huge shape is bound to catch people off guard, but it's OK.
6th logo[]
Same as the 3rd logo. The animation is amazing the music is breathtaking, and the execution of the logo was perfect. This is better than the logos out of the current age.
Trivia[]
- The shape in the logos is called a "Remedy", hence the name, Remedy Releasing.
