Rangeela Productions was a film production company in Pakistan created by Saeed Khan Rangeela in 1969.
Logos[]
1st logo (October 1, 1971-early 1990s)[]
The screen zooms out from a flaming figure on top of a giant "R", which appears to be sitting on top of a pedestal, with an image of a filmstrip circling below. The camera then quickly moves into the filmstrip which reads "RANGEELA PRODUCTIONS".
Variants[]
- On Khoobsurtat Shaitan and Gulli, only the first part is shown.
- Most of the time, the logo is shown in black and white.
2nd logo (November 8, 1972 - October 28, 1973)[]
The logo starts with footage of an explosion tinted in orange (actually part of the first scene of Kubra Ashiq). After a few seconds, it freezes, and the text in black "RANGEELA PRODUCTIONS" and "Present" in below the name of the company with "Present" in a script font fade in.
Variant[]
On Do Rangeeley, the explosion is still, the text is red and the footage is brighter and desaturated.
Music/Sounds[]
1st logo (1971-Early 1990's)[]
A drumroll with a bombastic male announcer. A three-note triumphant brass fanfare follows.
3rd logo (1972-1973)[]
The sound of the explosion.
Scare Factor[]
1st logo (1971-Early 1990's)[]
It depends on the variant.
- Aurat Raj variant: High to nightmare. The dark red atmosphere, fuzzy quality, fire above, zoom into the filmstrip, the loud, intimidating announcer and extreme deterioration will likely frighten many viewers.
- Dil Aur Duniya variant: Medium to nightmare, despite all the elements of the previous variant combined with the lack of colours, the fact that it's in clearer quality may tame it down slightly. However it could potentially raise for some for that very reason.
2nd logo (1972-1973)[]
Depending on the variant.
- Regular variant: Low to nightmare. The dark colors and explosion sound will scare many people (especially who are really afraid of explosions aka Ekrixiphobia). and the fact that it's followed by war footage from the film its from doesn't help matters. However, there isn't too much going on in this logo apart from the explosion, so some people may not find this scary.
- Do Rangeeley variant: Low to high. The explosion is only a frame in this variant, but the sound of it is still there.
Legacy[]
This logo is often misunderstood since many people still consider the war footage following it on Kubra Ashiq being part of the logo, leading to a big notoriety of being one of the scariest Pakistani logos just because of that part. However, it is only part of the opening scene of said film, and the film actually involves characters from a military background in its plot. The footage is not part of the logo. This has also been the case for similar supposed logos which also had opening scenes consisting of acted war footage intertwined with them. The logo, with the same explosion footage was also used again on this logo's second appearance on Do Rangeeley, leading to many people believe it is a supposed "shortened" version of it.
