Background[]
New World Pictures was founded by B-movie legend Roger Corman in 1970. However, they did not use an on-screen logo until 1976. In recent years, Roger Corman (through the New Concorde Home Video label) and several outside companies have reissued parts of the pre-1984 New World library on VHS and DVD. Corman left New World in 1984.
Logos[]
1st logo (1975-1979)[]
Two blue rectangles, one lighter than the other, slide from both sides of the screen and eventually overlap each other. "ROGER CORMAN PRESENTS" is written on the dark blue rectangle, while "A NEW WORLD PICTURES RELEASE" is written on the light blue rectangle. Both use the Peignot font.
2nd logo (1976-1981)[]
On a starry background, the text "NEW WORLD PICTURES PRESENTS", trails itself from the right of the screen in multiple colors (a la Filmways Pictures' second logo) to the center.
3rd logo (1980-1984)[]
Over a black background, "NEW WORLD PICTURES" in bold fades in. Two light streaks collide in the background and morph into a blue Aztec hieroglyphic sun. The sun shines and fades out.
4th logo (1984-1993)[]
On a black background, several three-dimensional orange fragments merge together to form a red-orange globe shape as the camera pulls back, a quick flash of light happening as each section passes. Once the abstract globe forms, "NEW WORLD PICTURES" (or "NEW WORLD INTERNATIONAL" for international distribution) fades in below it.

Usually none or the film's opening theme. On Galaxy of Terror, a loud whoosh is heard followed by blasts.
4th logo[]
On occasion, it featured a new-age synth theme composed by Joel Altshuler. Other times, it would be silent or accompanied with the films opening theme play over it.

Minimal to low. The animation can get to some.
3rd logo[]
Low. The flash can scare some.
4th logo[]
None. This is a memorable logo with great animation, and it is a favorite of many. The music is not bad either.
