Background[]
Namesake Entertainment is a film production company run by Joe Goodman. Namesake specializes in horror and thriller films with a strong religious theme (many of which are based on existing books). A bulk of their films were co-financed by Christian cable network Total Living Network and distributed by 20th Century Fox for limited theatrical releases (most of which being part of the short-lived Fox Faith program). The company is currently dormant, with no news surfacing since the release of its last film in 2008.
Logos[]
1st logo (October 31, 2000)[]
We see a silhouette of a kid walking on a path that splits in 2 directions, as a silhouette of a father fades in. They then both walk to the right side, where the sunset is, whilst a thunderstorm occurs on the left side. We then zoom out as the image of the father and son walking on the path is adjusted a bit and the text
NAMESAKE
ENTERTAINMENT
appears at the bottom, with a line sandwiched between the text.
2nd logo (2003-2006)[]
We see the company title fade in and zoom out with a water reflection below with a thick wavy line in a blue box with the father and son.. The reflection then becomes a line and "ENTERTAINMENT" is seen below.
Variant[]
A flat rendition of the end product is used on trailers.
3rd logo (November 7, 2008)[]
We see the metallic letters of "NAMESAKE" zooming out one-by-one, from "E" to "N", before being transported to a red cloud background. A line draws underneath it along with a thick wavy line at the top, as we see the same father and son from the previous logos fade in, along with a red-white gradient box appearing behind it. Another line is seen on top of the square. Then, "ENTERTAINMENT" appears underneath the thin line as the screen flashes a few times from the thunder.
Music/Sounds[]
1st logo[]
The opening theme of the movie; and a dark bang is heard as well.
2nd logo[]
A calm, yet suspenseful tune.
3rd logo[]
An eerie, suspenseful orchestra.
Scare Factor[]
1st logo[]
Low; the thunderclap might surprise some.
2nd logo[]
Minimal. The music is rather relaxing. However, this is REALLY nothing compared to what follows...
3rd logo[]
High to nightmare, as the hellish environment will scare a good amount of people. The music also doesn't help.
