Scary Logos Wiki

Background:[]

Mouthy Films (now Telepictures Productions) is a Australian-American film company, founded in 1979. In 2010, it was transformed into Telepictures Productions. It was owned by TallAutism2006 Productions from 2008-2011.

Logos:[]

Section 1: Mouthy Films[]

Logo 1: (1992-2009)[]

On a dark blue background, we see a weird transparent head with a big mouth roll in from the right. He then opens his mouth to a text bubble reading "Mouthy Films" in Comic Sans in black. A URL is also seen in comic sans and black, but kinda hard to see it. Then, it fades or cuts to black.

Section 2: Telepictures Productions[]

Logo 2: (2010-)[]

On a brown background, a bronze bar zooms out of view as lights move in different directions. The bronze bar is rotated, revealing that it is the pieces of the Telepictures logo, with the "T" cut in half (the logo resembles the 1993 version, with amendments made to its design). The parts of the "T" then join to form the whole "T" as the black and white circle fades-in, and the text "TELEPICTURES" rotates and zoom-out (like before it is set in Futura, but here it's a thicker weight). The logo then zooms out slowly to its usual distance, with the Warner Bros. Entertainment byline fading in.

Variants:[]

  • This logo was updated with the Warner Bros. byline in a serif font starting in 2010. However, some shows still use the 2009 byline variant, like Judge Mathis and Lopez Tonight (both with the 2010 music).
  • On some shows starting in 2014, the logo's colors are brighter.
  • Some shows such as TMZ and Extra have the logo fade out at the end and the following Warner Bros. Television logo would fade in. Other shows, such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Real, and Judge Mathis will have the logo cut straight to the WBTV logo.
  • Starting in 2020 on some shows, like TMZ, The Real and Judge Mathis, the logo is part of the split-screen credits alongside the other logos in the show's logo combo, including the WBTV logo.
  • A long version exists and was seen on the test-run show The Hustle. It can also be found on New Wave Entertainment's official Vimeo account.

Music/Sounds:[]

Mouthy Films[]

It's hard to describe, but it consists of a drum roll, a buzzing sound, and the weird face saying "Mouthy", in a weird and grouchy voice.

Telepictures Productions[]

It Depends.

  • Original: A laser-like sound and a "clang" when the parts join together. The following music plays throughout.
    • 2009-2010, 2021-present: Two mysterious-sounding synth notes. A longer version exists; the first 3 seconds would later be used for the 2014 theme.
    • 2010-present: 3 synth piano chords. This version is still used on shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
    • 2014-present: A rearranged version of the 2009 music. Basically a short version of the long 2009 music. First heard on season 2 of The Real.
Music/Sounds Variants:[]
  • Short versions of these themes exist.
  • Reportedly, at least one episode of Judge Mathis that aired in 2009 used the 2004 sound on this logo.

Scare Factor:[]

Mouthy Films[]

High. The weird face, the voice tone, the buzzing sound, and concept would confuse the viewers. However, the drum roll would lower the scare factor for some.

Telepictures Productions[]

Low to Medium. Although it can catch people off guard, due to it's fast pace, it's still a favorite to many, and fans of The Ellen Show would know it fondly. It's also much tamer than the Mouthy Films 1992 logo.
