Scary Logos Wiki

[]

(1964-1973): On a rotating flashing sunburst background, we see a kind of flower in the middle surrounded by 2 laurel wreaths on both sides. Above it is a ribbon containing the company's name "MERDEKA FILEM SETUDIO", swerving above the flower, along with a smaller, darker ribbon containing "MEMPERSEMBAHKAN" swerving below.

Variants[]

  • There exists a prototype variant where the logo is still, and a white shade is seen on the background. The camera also zooms to the flower at the end.
  • A variant exists where the flower inside a white oblong shape. It also appears to be darker. Only seen on Do Re Mi and Nasib Do Re Mi.
  • In its final few years, this logo was redone. The lines on the sunburst background are now being bigger and the wreaths are smaller and more rounded.

Music/Sounds[]

A stock majestic trumpet fanfare, which is known as "Film Finale" composed by Roger Roger. The fanfare is later used on a few other logos.

Scare Factor[]

  • Normal: Medium to high. The bizarre design of the logo, the flashing background and the fanfare can definitely creep out some. Then again, it shouldn't be too horrifying since it uses elements of a typical early film logo.
  • Later: Medium to nightmare, as the brighter scheme and bigger lines make it less friendly.
  • Do Re Mi and Nasib Do Re Mi: Low to medium. While its tamer for being less flashy, the design of the logo and the fanfare are still around.
  • Prototype: Low, since the flashing is absent. Though again, we still have the weird design and loud fanfare.
  • Anak Bapak: Medium. Its mainly the regular variant, so the flashing here is more noticeable, but thanks to opening theme of the movie, the scare factor is tamed a little, though it depends on what you think of the 60s-ish electric guitar solo.
