Scary Logos Wiki
McGraw Hill Films

Logos[]

1st logo (1960s?-1968?)[]

On a white background, a black square with the the words:

Mc

Graw

Hill

in white zooms towards the viewer and stops.

2nd logo (1968?-1984?)[]

On a black background, several parallel white lines from both sides of the screen towards the opposite side. The lines loosen from the sides and align themselves to the center of the screen. They bind together, and the words McGraw-Hill Films, appear. The official logo of McGraw-Hill at the time suddenly appears (in teal) below the text. This logo wouldthen either cut to the CRM Productions logo or a copyright notice.

Variant[]

A short version, which is a still shot of the finished logo, exists.

Music/Sounds[]

[]

None.

[]

A distorted (although this may be from film deterioration; it's a common theme in education films) acoustic guitar and harmonica piece (which sounds like the 1994 DreamWorks logo theme) with some Moog twinkling-like sounds thrown in. Sounds like what one would expect for the 70s.

Music/Sounds Variant[]

The short version is silent.

Scare Factor[]

1st logo[]

None to minimal. The box zooming in could startle a few people. Otherwise, it's harmless.

2nd logo[]

Low to medium. Like most educational film logos, this suffers from film deterioration, so that (combined with the warped audio that comes with it) may bother a few. The simple animation and music may also get to some.
