They've mainly distributed lesser-known films and Spanish music videos. In 1997, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment purchased the company and renamed it to Fox Manicore Film Distribución S.A.

Logos[]
1st logo (1981-1985)[]
We see many colorful, kaleidoscopic wallpaper-like designs rapid-changing and zooming-in towards the screen. When the all colors freezes, the image breaks into a teal-orange gradient background, and we see a yellow-blue chyron trails that says "M4N1C0RE" in a futuristic font; the trails are to the right. Then another "M4N1C0RE" chyron trail fades in. A scrolling "M4N1C0RE" chyron trail goes across the screen quickly, like the Windows Movie Maker title "Scroll, Banner" except with much, much, much more chyron. Then assorted rainbow chyron trails that say "M4N1C0RE" surround the screen, and it's nothing but chyron trails for some time, but then, on a turquoise/cyan/yellow lava lamp-like background with a spotlight, a teal-orange chyron trail that says "M4N1C0RE" appears, and the spotlight is turned off, leaving the words "M4N1C0RE" in pink-lime.
Variants[]
- There is a filmed variant of this logo.
- A negative colour variant exists.
- A still variant exists.
2nd logo (1984, 1986-1987)[]
On a pitch-black background, a light tunnel appears suddenly in the distance and engulfs the screen. The light tunnel jarringly changes colors and shapes throughout this part of the logo (a la 2001: A Space Odyssey). We eventually move even faster through the tunnel as chyron trails quickly zoom past us, with some "X" shapes forming. There is then rapid-flashing, which replaces the tunnel with rainbow "M4N1C0RE" and "presenta" words, which zoom away from us with a chyron trail on a colorful background. When the "M4N1C0RE" and "presenta" words are at a comfortable distance, the chyron trail disappears into the logo, which turns black and white.
Variants[]
- Another colour variant exists.
- A still variant exists.
3rd logo (1988-2005)[]
In a space environment, we see multiple stars and planets. As a shooting star streaks, it forms the text "M4N1C0RE PICTURES", in a curly font, glowing. A few seconds afterwards, another shooting star streaks, forming the text "presenta" in a curly font, glowing underneath it.
Variants[]
- Instead of "presenta", "Ahora en videocasete" appears. It is seen on some tapes that have promos for movies released on videos.
- Another variant appears, with "Viniendo a los cines" appearing. It's seen on some tapes that have trailers for movies.
- Another variant has "Ahora disponible en DVD" appearing. It's seen on some tapes and discs that have promos for movies released on DVD.
- Another variant has "Ahora en videocasete y DVD" appearing. It's seen on some tapes and discs that have promos for movies released on Video and DVD.
- At the end of tapes and discs, a version with "PRESENTACIÓN DE" appears above "M4N1C0RE PICTURES", and in place of "presenta" is the copyright year. (For example; ©1994 Manicore Pictures Video Distribución S.A., or from 1997-2005, ©1999 Fox Manicore Video Distribución S.A.)
- 1997-2005 releases have "presenta" removed in the opening version due to being followed by the 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment logo.
Music/Sounds[]
(1981-1985): None, which could make it scarier for some, or on some tapes, the 1982 20th Century Fox music.
(1984, 1986-1987): Various humming and eerie bell sounds, which rather jarringly transitions into a 80's-era loud, bombastic, synthesized high-tempo disco tune. It begins with a drums, and many whooshes. When the Manicore logo is on screen, the tune becomes increasingly bombastic as time goes on until it ends with a big finish.
(1988-2005): A deep humming sound, followed by a whirring 3-note synth theme with whooshes as the shooting stars appear.
Music/Sounds Variant[]
- There is a quiet (but not silent) version of the music.
- The third variant has a voiceover on some tapes.
Scare Factor[]
(1981-1985): Depending on the variant:
- Filmed variant: It depends on your view of the logo; it can be range from low to nightmare, due to the very psychedelic visuals, overuse of chyron/video feedback, and generally trippy-animated nature, and the lack of any music or sounds could just make it scarier. This logo is also an eyesore, mostly psychedelic and will give seizures, but it's mostly cheesy and it would decrease the scare factor for some other people.
- Videotaped variant: Low to high. The videotaped versions generally have smoother animation and quality due to the Scanimation effects, which can lower the scare factor for some.
- Negative colour variant: High to nightmare. It'll get more than the normal version, and it's quite more of a total eyesore.
- 20th Century Fox music variant: Medium to nightmare, as the music can startle the viewer who expected the original.
- Still variant: None to low.
However, the next logo is even scarier...
(1984, 1986-1987): Again, depending on the variant:
- Original variant: High to nightmare. The more ominous and intense nature of the logo including the music/sounds makes the nature more distrubing undeniably than the previous logo, which makes immediately very creepy by fact.
- Quiet version: Medium.
- Still version: Minimal to low.
Oh, you don't need to worry about the next logo, and that's because...
(1988-2005):
- None to low. This logo is far more easier on the eyes and isn't that creepy at all. It's sudden appearance, whooshing noises and synth might startle some, but the logo is a fitting replacement for the previous two logos.
Trivia[]
- The 1st and 2nd logos are based on the Videoring and SuperVideo logos. The 2nd logo is also a bit similar to the 1st IMAX logo.
- The 3rd logo's music is similar to the Palace Pictures logo.
- The first two logos were created by Manuel Cantolla. According to Cantolla, he said this; "Queríamos que el logo representara que el videocasete estaba "vivo". En esa época, a todo el mundo le gustaba la música pop y queríamos efectos geniales, pero al final era una monstruosidad total, por lo que la compañía diseñó un nuevo logo que se resolvió. hacia la calma, y así tenemos el logo del espacio." (Translation: "We wanted the logo to represent that the videocassette was "alive." At the time, everyone was into pop music and we wanted cool effects, but in the end it was a total eyesore, so the company designed a new logo which solved it. towards calm, and thus we have the logo of space.")
