Logo 2 (2002-2022, 2023-)

Background[]

Machine Entertainment Studios Limited (formerly Machine Pictures, Incorporated, and Canal+ Australia Films) is an Australian film company founded in 1995. The company's name comes from the founder's name, which is Macy Hine. Notice the bold letters. In 2007 the company was bought by StudioCanal. Everything was going well for the company, until January 29, 2021, when StudioCanal announced that Machine Pictures would be rebranded to Canal+ Australia Films. This was completed on May 8, 2022. However, due to large backlash, on August 2, 2022, StudioCanal's parent company, Vivendi, announced that Canal+ Australia Films would be renamed to Machine Entertainment, which made everyone happy. The rebrand is set for January 1, 2023. The company did not have a big screen logo until 2002.

Logos:[]

Logo 1: (1995-2002)[]

On a black background, we see the words:

M a c H i n e

P i c t u r e s

in white in the cooper black font, with a url saying, "www.machinepictures.au" also in cooper black in white.

Variant[]

  • On the first five seasons of Australian Pip, the "M a c H i n e P i c t u r e s" text is navy blue, and the url is torch red.

Logo 2: (2002-2022, 2023-)[]

On a rusty jail cell like background, we see an iron key on a table with fairy bread (bread, butter and sprinkles), and a kiwi. The key is then picked up and carried to a hole which looks like a door knob. The key is then placed in there and then it turns. We see inside the wall which shows some Kleenex tissues, and some lotion. it then reveals to what is going on, on the other side. We then see a lever go down because of the key. then some gears start turning then we see a plastic container with "notorious oxide" with a blue hue. Then a strange cyan liquid comes from it and we then go in the container. and follow the cyan liquid. it then goes to the ceiling and down to outside the building, which is revealed to be a workshop at night. then we see a red valve with a faucet connected to it. The valve is then turned to reveal the cyan liquid which then leads us to the electricity which it goes inside to make energy. the we pan to see a neon sign. which is turned off. Then, the cyan liquid fills up the neon sign, to reveal, "Machine Pictures" in Microgramma D OT Bold Extended. the url from the previous logo, also in the same font appears. Then it fades to black, and ends with a cyan twinkle.

Variants[]

  • On "Crikey! An Awesome Musical Film About Australia (2006)", the cyan liquid is replaced for Vegemite.
  • On the newer seasons of Australian Pip and "Australian Pip: The Movie (2013)", the Kleenex and lotion is replaced with boxes of kiwi juice, and the cyan liquid is torch red and navy blue.
  • On the Australian prints of "Life of a Gay Person", the cyan liquid is rainbow
  • On "G O L E M", the logo is tinted red.
  • Starting in 2007, the logo added a byline reading, "a division of canal+".
  • The logo will say "Machine Entertainment" instead of Machine Pictures, starting in 2023.

Logo 3: (2022)[]

On an ugly blue background, we see the Canal+ logo, with the bloody orange text "Australia" in Comic Sans. Then, the the green text "Films" zooms onto the screen in with some cheap animation. Then, it zooms out to the left with some equally cheap and corny effects.

Music/Sounds[]

Logo 1:[]

Either none, or the closing theme to the show.

Logo 2:[]

Composed by Jerry Goldsmith, It consists of a 331 note orchestral fanfare, with 300 violin notes, and 31 guitar notes, ending with a twinkle.

Music/Sound Variant[]

  • On "G O L E M", it is just an earpiercing long note.

Logo 3:[]

None.

Scare Factor[]

Logo 1:[]

None. This is just an in-credit logo, so it's not scary. However, it's nothing compares to the next logo.

Logo 2:[]

It depends.

  • Medium to Nightmare for the original, "LOAGP" and "C!: AAMFAA" variants. The long length, the music, the darkness, the animation, and ore are bound to scare people. The Kleenex and lotion are absolutely a red flag for this logo, since it's closely related to masturbation, which is NOT FOR KIDS AT ALL, and can add some scare factor. This maybe the most darkest Australian logo ever and one of the scariest in the ranks of To The Children Of Australia, Star Video, 3rdSense, and especially Southern Star.
  • Medium for the Australian Pip variant. As the Kleenex and lotion are gone. But still, the scare factor can be very high.
  • Nightmare for the "G O L E M" variant, as the torch red tint and long note does not go well with the kooky and creepy original variant.

However, the scare factor is lower for those who are used to it.

Logo 3:[]

None. This logo is pretty boring, but it’s much tamer than the 2nd logo.
