Lion Base Intl. Ltd is a VERY LOUD logo from Nigeria that is a rather obvious ripoff of the MGM logo.
Logo[]
(2004): Over a stock purple background, a filmstrip marquee (similar to the MGM logo) zooms out and has a video of a lion yawning (as an attempt to imitate roaring) at a sunny rural area inside the circle. Once the lion roars, flashing green text comes out of its mouth and morphs into a circle, reading "LION BASE INT'L LTD". The text then stretches over the circle of the marquee and the video fades into another view of the same lion yawning. Finally, the logo stops zooming once everything is complete.
Music/Sounds[]
Footage of nature recordings with an instrument note at the beginning and some distorted lion roars, but in this one that is not loud, it's not distorted.
Scare Factor[]
Low to medium. The logo is generally more cheesy than scary, but the lion could scare younger viewers. The music is not very pleasant, and the lion's roar is rather irritating to listen to (not helping that it’s very loud and bass-boosted). However, you might find it funny because it seems so close to being an actual parody of the MGM logo that somebody did as a joke, though it is unlikely to be the case.
