Logos[]
1st logo (1987)[]
Set on a black background, there are two small kanji characters "制 作" on the left, with "GAINAX", in a futuristic font, on the right.
2nd logo (1997)[]
On a black background, the grungy white text "GAINAX" appears at the bottom-right corner of the screen and vibrates. It appears for a split-second.
3rd logo (2000)[]
Scrolling up in the credits underneath the Production I.G. logo, we see the text "GAiNAX" stylized much like in the 2nd logo but in a thinner font.
4th logo (1990's)[]
Just an in-credit text that reads: PRODUCED BY GAINAX
It can also have "ANIMATION PRODUCED BY" above the company name.
Music/Sounds[]
1st logo[]
None.
2nd logo[]
A record player sound effect.
3rd logo[]
The closing theme of the show ("Ride on Shooting Star" by The Pillows).
4th logo[]
Same as before.
Scare Factor[]
1st logo[]
None. But however, This logo is very tame compared to the next one...
2nd logo[]
High to nightmare. The recorder scratching sound and the creepy logo design will frighten many, along with the black background and the way the text animates. That said, knowing the teasing nature of Gainax alumni, and especially the extremely dark nature of the movie this precedes, this was all probably intentional.
3rd logo[]
None, it's far tamer than before.
4th logo[]
None.
