Scary Logos Wiki

Background[]

FOXTEL Productions is the production company of FOXTEL, an Australian pay television company that acts as a joint venture between the old News Corporation (Fox) and Telstra. They didn't produce much original programming at first, but now they produce it actively.

Logos[]

1st logo (2004): TBA.

Variant[]

Sometimes, "DIGITAL" replaces "PRODUCTIONS".

2nd logo (2006): On a orange background with various zooming/popping-in lens flares (a la 2009 BBC Video logo) that start to flash a little bit, a spotlight shines and reveals the FOXTEL logo in white with the "digital" text below.

3rd logo (2007): Sort of acts as a redone version of the previous logo, however the animation is slightly different and no copyright information is below. Also, the "PRODUCTIONS" text is not seen.

4th logo (2010-2012): On a black background, we see a light shining from left to right, revealing the FOXTEL logo in red. Below it in grey are "ORIGINAL" and "PRODUCTION". Copyright information is below. The entire logo fades out a little ways into the logo.

5th logo (2012-2017): On a black-grey gradient background, a searchlight shines and reveals the FOXTEL logo in grey. The text "made for" is above the logo. Copyright information is below. The logo shines. The light and "made for" text then fades out and the logo itself fades out a couple of seconds later.

Variant[]

In 2014, the logo was enhanced with better animation. In this version everything fades out at the same time.

6th logo (2016-2017): On the dark, we see a spotlight turning up. The background then shows up to be a mix of bright colored spotlights with the FOXTEL logo and "Original" seen below it. The logo shines. A few seconds later the spotlight turns off, making the screen dark again.

7th logo (2017-): On a dark gradient blue background, we see letters all in lower case slide in from different directions in their positions to reveal the phase "foxtel original" in a Helvetica-style font. The logo then slides out the same way and in it's place, Foxtel's logo (six dots forming an abstract 'f') slide in in it's place.

Variant[]

  • An opening variant exists that has both the letters and the abstract 'f' slide in together and remain on screen.
  • Beginning in August 2018, the abstract 'f' was removed from both the opening and closing variant. Both variants just have the "foxtel original" text animate in as before.

Music/Sounds[]

1st logo: TBA.

2nd logo: A bubbly synth piece.

3rd logo: A bubbly synth piece that is slightly different than the last logo's music.

4th logo: A whoosh.

5th logo: Same as before. The newer version has a angelic choir added to the whoosh.

6th logo: A quiet, low synth piece.

7th logo: None.

Scare Factor[]

1st logo: Low to medium, mainly because of the darkness, lights and music.

2nd logo: None to minimal. It might not sit well for epileptics, but otherwise it's harmless.

3rd logo: None, thanks to the improved animation.

4th logo: None. This is a boring logo, but the whoosh is bound to startle some viewers.

5th logo: None to minimal, though the darkness, lack of colour and whoosh might get to some. However, this is a favourite by many.

6th logo: None to low, mainly because of the gaudy colours, which can be an eyesore. Aside from that, this one's also boring (in a similar fashion to the 4th logo).

7th logo: None. This is more boring than scary.
