This company was founded in the late 30s (it is unknown what year however) as the creator of several radio shows, in 1944, they decided to move on to TV, and they made a logo, in 1951 they revamped their logo, in 1953, they recreated the 1944 logo, in 1963, the company absorbed into Wishing Well Industries (which in turn got defunct in 1989)
Logos[]
1st logo (1944-1953): We see a Tom (Tom and Jerry) peek out of a wall, he then says “Don’t you believe it!” in a deep voice, the words “Don’t You Believe It!” appear as he says it.
2nd logo (1951): Against a blue background, the letters "Humor is our motto" in a red generic Helvetica font quickly zoom back, away from the viewer to the vanishing point, and disappearing when the text is very small. Then the word "DYBI” in white, also appears out of nowhere and then zooms forward really fast, taking up the whole screen and creating a white background. And finally, the word "Don’t You Believe It!" zooms forward at a fast pace, in blue.
3rd logo (1952-1963): In a destroyed city, we see a cat (from the 1st logo) emerge from the rubbles of the city, he says “Don’t You Believe It!” in the same deep voice as the last one, the words “Don’t You Believe It!” zoom out of his mouth when he says it.
Scare Factor[]
1st logo: High, due to the cat’s voice, however it’s funny compared to its successor……
2nd logo: Depending on the variant:
- Filmed variant: Medium to nightmare, due to the fanfare and the zoom in but it compared.
- Ultra extreme deterioration: Nightmare to off the scale, due to the VERY deteriorated music, the “Don’t You Believe It!” text zooming in, and film grain, this is the scariest variant of the logo, though it could just be Nightmare if you realize that it’s fanmade.
