Logos[]
1st Logo:
On a dark blue space background that zooms away slowly, there is "MADE FOR VIDEO!", tilted, colored orange, and against some stripes. It "rolls" backward, and the title logo for the special rotates into place, colored lime green. "Produced for" appears below, then it fades out as the title rotates away, making room for a flying Disney Channel logo (in blue) on top and a flying Walt Disney Home Video logo in red on the bottom, with the word "and" fading in.
2nd Logo:
On a black background, there is the words "The DiSNEY Channel" with "DiSNEY" in Walt Disney's signature font and the rest in the Times New Roman font.
Variant: A version exists with an "In Association With" byline above the logo.
3rd Logo:
Over a background of claymated concentric circles coming from the center, there is Mickey Mouse in his 1930s design dancing inside the Disney Channel logo of the era that features a black television set with Mickey Mouse ears at the top, with the white Disney logo inside and "CHANNEL" below. Sometimes, the white "In Association with" text is shown above, set in Triplex Sans, and sometimes, the background pattern varies.
Variants:
- In later years, the website URL "www.disney.com" is seen below.
- On season two of Bug Juice, the first two seasons of So Weird, and all Disney Channel Original Movies from 1998-2000, the background is a blue aurora that almost appears to be swirling with white sparks coming from behind the logo like a burst of fireworks and a purple aurora blurry ring.
- Some co-produced series would carry the text "In Association With" above the logo.
- On Zoog Disney, Mickey is replaced with Browser.
- There is a variant where the background is a Columbia Pictures 1976 "Sunburst"-like background and a dark red banner reading "Vault Disney" is seen above the logo, which has the word "CHANNEL" below. An alternate Mickey is also used here, in which he's outlined entirely in purple and does a different dance animation.
- Sometimes (especially in the first year of the logo), the word "CHANNEL" can't be seen.
- On early episodes of Disney Channel in Concert, there is a variant in which is on a purple background with a texture similar to fabric with four yellow circles near the Disney Channel logo. The alternative purple Mickey animation is also used here, and the word "CHANNEL" is also in a different font.
- One variant had a different Mickey animation (also from Thru the Mirror) in which he's wearing a top hat and balancing a cane (possibly a match) on his nose. The background for this variant was a series of black outlined overlapping circles, which came in white, yellow, or aqua-green color.
- On newer prints of Disney Channel movies from the era, the logo is zoomed in to 16:9.
4th Logo:
There is a still screenshot of the house from Bear in the Big Blue House from the opening credits. At the middle is the text in white reads: "UK version produced by" in Capri Bold font. At the bottom is the Disney Channel International wordmark with "DiSNEY" in the corporate Walt Disney script, at the left, in red with a white shadow, and "Channel" in Globe Gothic Bold Condensed font, at the right, in blue, again with a white shadow, next to the word "DiSNEY". After one second, it fades out to black, seguing into the shorter version of the Shadow Projects logo.
5th Logo:
Over a psychedelic purple background, there is "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" in white. It fades out and zooms in and the Disney Channel logo from last time, in purple, zooms up. "DiSNEY", in the familiar trademark font, pops out of the logo when it stops. Through the remainder, the logo shifts colors and patterns. There is a "ghost" of the logo in front of it.
Variants:
- On some shows and original movies, it omits the words "IN ASSOCIATION WITH", so we start with the Disney Channel logo zooming in.
- On French dubs of their shows, the "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" text is in French, which says, "EN ASSOCIATION AVEC".
- A print version of the logo on a white background was spotted on The Santa Clause Brothers.
- On newer prints of Disney Channel movies from the era, the logo is zoomed in to 16:9.
- On the Even Stevens season 1 episode "Foodzilla", the logo is darker.
6th Logo:
On a white background, there is the Media Merchants logo, with the text "A Production" and "in association with" at the top and bottom of it in whatever language it's being shown on. Below it is the 1997-2003 Disney Channel International wordmark below it (in the same fonts as the 4th logo).
7th Logo:
Over a black background, there is blue pixie dust flying from the bottom of the screen to the center, causing a flash that sends several blue Mickey Mouse head outlines towards the viewer as if it explodes like fireworks, which turns the background into a cloudy sky. The pixie dust circles around the flash, which becomes a Mickey Mouse head that happens to be Disney Channel's logo, filled with watery white coloring, a blue outline around it, and the "DiSNEY CHANNEL" text in black with "DiSNEY" in its corporate font. The logo comes closer to the viewer as it wobbles to its normal position on the bottom left as a blue banner reading "OrIGInaL" (set in Placard Bold Condensed, the font used for Disney Channel's graphics since then) in white pops up around the logo. As the logo continues to wobble, the pixie dust moves offscreen, leaving behind a trail of pixie dust. It then reappears and moves from behind the logo to the top, leaving another trail.
Trivia: This logo was based on the intro and bumpers for the Disney Channel Movie programming block from 2002 to 2008.
Variants:
- There is a more common short version starting with the wobble.
- On some international prints, the logo fades to the 1998-2006 Buena Vista International logo.
- On Life with Derek, "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" is above the logo.
- On U.S airings of Naturally Sadie, "A Decode Entertainment production in association with" is above the logo.
- A sped-up version of the short version exists.
- On some Disney Channel Original Movies from 2004-2006 and HD prints of them, the logo is zoomed in.
- On Disney Channel Live: El concierto, the logo jarringly zooms out to reveal itself animating like usual, and when the logo fades out, it starts to animate in reverse.
- Disney Channel promos in the early 2000s had the logo on their backgrounds.
- On some international versions of the original movie Pixel Perfect, the logo isn't only cropped but the colors are brighter than usual.
- A variant exists where "ORIGINAL" was replaced with "DISNEYCHANNEL.COM". Here, the banner moves slightly different and is placed more lower.
- On the international versions of Twitches and Buffalo Dreams, as well as some 4:3 Disney Channel Asia prints of High School Musical, the widescreen logo is COMPLETELY cropped to where only the right side of the logo is shown.
- On Disney Channel UK, there is a version with a copyright notice saying "(C) 2007 Disney Channel UK".
- On the French dub of The Cheetah Girls 2, the logo is in black and white.
- On international prints of High School Musical, the logo may be in widescreen and cut very short.
- On 2006-2009 and Netflix prints of High School Musical, the logo is seen slowing down. and brighter.
- On the Australian version of As the Bell Rings, the logo was recreated in which the logo is slightly faster, the cloud background is different than the original, and the logo has an extremely cheaper appearance to it (almost as if it was made in Blender in a few minutes).
8th Logo:
Logo: On a twinkling blue background, a blue ribbon appears and turns into the Mickey Mouse head from the last logo, but with a bit of a difference. The "OrIGInaL" banner pops up under the Disney Channel name, and doesn't wobble, so it comes to a complete stop. Instead of the water-like substance from the last logo, the inside of the Mickey Head has what appears to be a weird, beige semi-solid that morphs (almost like oatmeal).
Variants:
- There is a prototype version of this logo that was either still with no banner, or cut short. It was only seen on Twitches Too, and later prints of High School Musical 2 respectively. However, this logo "officially" debuted on January 25, 2008.
- A widescreen version exists, with blue lines sandwiched on the left and right respectively for 4:3 shows. On the 2008 Disney Channel Games, it disappears, causing the Disney copyright notice to appear.
- A similar variant exists for the Playhouse Disney logo as well.
- An alternate widescreen version exists, in which the Disney Channel logo is on the far left side of the screen. In this version, there's no blue lines, and more of the background can be seen.
- On The Cheetah Girls: One World, the "OrIGInaL" banner is absent.
- On 16 Wishes, the logo has more noticeable differences like more of the background can be seen and thus causing the Mickey Mouse head to be smaller. The "OrIGInaL" banner can be seen more and just simply slides up, and the words on it are smaller. Overall, this variant looks incredibly cheap.
- On current prints of Tiger Cruise, a longer version exists where the ribbon appears in the sky and the camera moves down, going to the normal logo's animation.
- On a print of the Kim Possible episode "The Big Job", an even longer version exists in which on a black and blue gradient background, with stars on the left side of the screen, the blue ribbon hits the near-center of the screen causing a bright star and flash to appear making the other little stars more detailed and the cloudy background to appear, going to the variant above animation.
- On the 2009 special Disney's Friends for Change, the "OrIGInaL" banner is absent and the logo is in widescreen.
- On some Disney Channel Original Movies (Geek Charming and Radio Rebel are some examples), the logo is cut short to the "OrIGInaL" banner appearing on the Disney Channel logo and is in slow-motion.
- On CITV airings of various Disney Channel shows, the logo is still, and the words "A DISNEY CHANNEL PRODUCTION" is above the logo. It uses the music from the last logo.
- On one occasion, there is a "yellow" variant, in which the Mickey head, the "Disney Channel" text, and the "OrIGInaL" banner are yellow, and the sky backdrop is dark red with black clouds shifting forward.
9th Logo:
It's just the same as the 2014 Disney Channel Original Movies logo, except the banner just says "ORIGINAL".
10th Logo:
On a black background, the 2014 Disney Channel logo (minus ''CHANNEL'') rapidly zoom into view, as the letters of ''DISNEY'' float on top and settle from left to right on the blue backing. ''CHANNEL'' appears, also from left to right, below. The logo shines as white sparks fly around it. A byline appears below: ''©2016 The Walt Disney Company Limited. All Rights Reserved''
11th Logo:
Over the end credits of The Lodge, the 2014 Disney Channel logo forms, with the white text drawing in first as the blue backing covers it, filling like water or gelatin, as well as two yellow lens flares. Once it is fully formed, streaks of water shoot from the sides and top of the logo.
12th Logo:
On a pink background with outline of the dot of the "i" in the Disney Channel logo engrained, with little emojis floating on the bottom screen going right to left, a light blue tab with the dot of the "i" comes out and it becomes larger, turns yellow, and it now contains the 2014 Disney Channel logo in purple. The background becomes light blue while the tab then shrinks slightly and moves slightly to the left and a large purple tab with the words "ORIGINAL" in yellow comes out and goes to the right. The two tabs move down slightly and the background becomes gray.
13th Logo:
At night, there is a view of the house that is with the address of 101 Dalmatian Street. It is seen in a neighborhood next to two other buildings. The camera then moves to the city of Camden Town. Below the city is a purple version of the 2014 Disney Channel logo. During the forming a copyright stamp is seen below. The camera then stops moving when the Disney Channel logo is formed.
14th Logo:
In the center of a mostly blue background, with some light purple on the left side of the screen and some weird shapes all around, there's a yellow circle with a stylized Mickey Mouse hand giving a "thumbs up" sign. Suddenly, the circle and the hand zooms out to reveal the 2014 Disney Channel logo in blue, with the words having a blue-white gradient color. The word, "ORIGINAL" in a white crude font with pencil shading appears one-by-one with the letters zooming in and out rapidly. While that is happening, the background becomes purple with a stylized Mickey Mouse head (in the same style as the "i" in "Disney" in Disney Channel's logo) showing the blue background. All around the screen, there are various items like a lightning bolt and a Mickey Mouse ear hat.
15th Logo:
Over the end credits of Miraculous World: New York - United Heroez, it just sees a print logo of the 2017 Disney Channel logo along with other logos.
Music/Sounds:[]
1st Logo:
A slightly different re-orchestration of the fanfare from the "Neon Mickey" Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo composed and performed by Buddy Baker.
2nd Logo:
The ending theme of the show.
3rd Logo:
A synth-disco jingle, based on Disney Channel's old jingle at the time, or the end theme of the show or TV movie.
Music/Sounds Variants:
- On Playhouse Disney shows, a xylophone arrangement of the theme is used instead.
- On season two of Bug Juice, some episodes of The Making Of... , and several DCOMs like Can of Worms and The Color of Friendship, there is a tribal arrangement of the theme.
- The "Vault Disney" version has an upbeat, jazzy rendition of the theme (which was also used on "coming up next" bumpers for the block).
- On Zoog Disney, a techno music followed by the vocals says "Zoogs!" (used for the Zoog Disney bumpers from 1998-2000), with Browser barking.
4th Logo:
The ending theme of the show.
5th Logo:
Either the end theme of the show, or a hip-hop/techno fusion jingle containing a male's voice saying "Yeah!", followed by two distorted guitar/record scratches that almost sound like "All right!", "Oh yeah!" or "Star power!". The short version just has the latter half of the "Yeah!" sounder followed by the record scratches.
Music/Sounds Variants:
- On the 2005 Classroom Edition DVD of The Color of Friendship, this logo plasters over the previous logo. If you listen closely when the logo cuts to black, you can hear the last note of the tribal arrangement from the previous logo, but on Disney+, that music plays.
- On Disney+ prints of the DCOM Zenon: The Sequel, a low pitched version of the 2007 theme is heard. The French audio track has the correct 2000 theme.
- On Disney+ prints of the season 3 premiere of Even Stevens, the theme from the 2002 logo plays out of sync. CITV UK airings of this episode has the correct 2000 theme.
6th Logo:
The same sound from the 1998 Media Merchants logo.
7th Logo:
Several drumbeats, which segue into a ska punk theme with electric guitars and a horn section, the last four notes of which became Disney Channel's signature jingle. Composed by Tonal Sound and Elias Associates. The tune sounds rather similar to that of "The Impression That I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. There is also a shorter version. Sometimes, it's the closing theme of the show.
Music/Sounds Variants:
- On seasons 2-3 of That's So Raven, we hear the 5th logo's music, except the "Yeah!" is extended. On Hannah Montana, Cory in the House and season 4 of That's So Raven, the short version of the 5th logo's music is used.
- On an online print of the That's So Raven episode "Driven to Insanity", a split second of the 4th logo's music can be heard and it then abruptly cuts to the regular theme of this logo.
- On the UK version of As the Bell Rings, a ding is heard.
8th Logo:
This logo had many music variants:
- A breakbeat with a short techno redoing of the Disney Channel jingle.
- A sustained guitar note, which is actually taken from the last few seconds of the closing theme to Princess Protection Program.
- The 2002 theme by Tonal Sound and Elias Associates.
- The short version of the 2002 theme.
- The 2000 "Yeah! All right!" theme.
- The short version of the aforementioned theme.
- Synthesized Disney Channel jingle that was used as promo music as well.
- The closing theme of the show.
- On one print of Lilo & Stitch: The Series, the Walt Disney Television theme finishes over it.
- The yellow variant uses the promo's music accompanied by a narrator saying "All new Disney Channel Original Movie" over it.
9th Logo:
Same as the 2014 Disney Channel Original Movies logo.
Music/Sounds Variant: On Tangled: The Series (also known as Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure), a few whooshes are heard.
10th Logo:
The closing theme of the show.
11th Logo:
The closing theme of the show.
12th Logo:
A techno remix of the Disney Channel theme which somewhat sounds like a slight remix of the synthesized tune of the 8th logo.
13th Logo:
The closing theme to the show.
14th Logo:
The end theme of the special or the show. On BIA, it has a 2-note theme with the sparkling sounds on it.
15th Logo:
The closing theme to the special.
Scare Factor[]
1st Logo: Low to high. The fanfare from the Neon Mickey logos could easily scare those who were scared of the Neon Mickey logo, and the icon can get to some. But since there is no creepy Mickey, it's tame.
2nd Logo: None, it's tamer than the 1st logo.
3rd Logo: None to low. Mickey could get to some, and could surprise some depending on the variant, but this logo is a favorite of many.
4th Logo: None to low. The characters could get to some, especially those who don't like puppets.
5th Logo: None to medium. The jingle could get to some and the flashing could make some dizzy.
6th Logo: None.
7th Logo: None to minimal.
8th Logo: None to minimal. The logo could confuse some depending on the music and logo. But this is one of the most popular TV logos ever made, and is cherished by many, especially those who grew up watching Disney Channel. The variants are also fun to watch.
9th Logo: None.
10th Logo: None to low. The zoom-in could get to some, but this is an excellent redesign of the logo.
11th Logo: None.
12th Logo: None.
13th Logo: None.
14th Logo: None. This is a great logo.
15th Logo: None. This is just boring and bland when compared to the previous logos. However, it's just an in-credit logo, so it's not supposed to be much anyway. People would be more bored than scared of this logo.
Trivia[]
- The animation of Mickey Mouse dancing is taken from the Disney cartoon Thru the Mirror (1936). The alternate purple Mickey animation is taken from Mickey's Follies (1929). Also, this logo and many of its variants were designed and produced at Lee Hunt Associates, Cuppa Coffee, and English Marshall Pockett.
- The 7th logo was based on the intro and bumpers for the Disney Channel Movie programming block from 2002 to 2008.
- The music from the 8th logo was used as promo music.
