Background[]
Danger After Dark was an American film company founded in April 26, 2006, when their Youtube Channel was also founded. They primarily released horror movies around the world. Eventually, the company shut down in June 2017.
Logo (April 26, 2006-May 18, 2013)[]
There is unreadable red text zooming in the screen while bring center mirrored on a white background. It flips itself to reveal the company name (still having the reflection) and fades out. The company name appears again, but not being center mirrored, the company name is jittering and in black, and the background is flashing. We then see a red saw blade split the text in half, making the halves fall. Finally, the saw blade and the company name appear before ending.
Variant[]
On numerous international trailers the company released, it's shortened where the sequence starts with the text jittering.
Technique[]
Adobe flash animation.
Music/Sounds[]
A strange whoosh noise and a squeak noise. When the flashing begins, a very loud scream can be heard. Finally, a slice noise is heard.
Music/Sounds Variant[]
On the trailers, the opening theme plays and (oftentimes) the original sounds have a lower volume.
Scare Factor[]
High to nightmare. The flashing background, the saw blade splitting the text, and the scream can jumpscare many people. The brightness and the cheesy animation do lower the scare factor a bit, but not by much. However, the logo was intentional since the company released horror movies. Medium to nightmare for the trailers variant due to the sounds being at a lower volume.
