Scary Logos Wiki

Logos[]

1st logo (1975-1983): On a psychedelic vector background, a TV antenna is formed from two outlines of it. The antenna then becomes the words "NTENNE" and an "A" which fly around the screen. They then form the word "ANTENNE" in white, a red copy appears above it, which flies around the white text, and forms the number "2". The "A" grows, and becomes a triangle without a bottom, with the "2" moving inside of it. The "2" then flies around the "A" as the background turns blue. The vector background returns.

2nd logo (1975-1983): In a space full of planets, a red planet becomes larger to face the viewer. People from the sky with blue uniforms fly to the planet. Then we see a rising 2. As that happens, the planet flies away, unveiling the whole image and the men start flying. They then regroup themselves above the 2 and turn around to unveil letters on their shirts, revealing the word "ANTENNE". The men then fly away.

Variant[]

A closedown variant exists where you see one of those men flying towards others of the same to the 2 mentioned. They then form the letters "antenne" and fly away.

3rd logo (1983-1990): We see light against a black background. Then we see light on a background moving. Once set in places geometrical figures fly around it. Then more circles lit and more objects fly around it. As that happens circles separate themselves from the orbit and form an orbit of their own. Then we see a bubble after which a transition happens. At the top we see rectangles with stripes and bubbles fly around the realm. Then the stripes home in below. Then the background switches from top to bottom and rectangles fly in. Then the screen fades away showing a screen with water, which also fades away showing the Antenne 2 logo.

4th logo (1987): We see red stripes flying by forming lines. Then we see a 2 and an a appears. Then the 2 turns 90° and the a becomes flat.

5th logo (1987-1990): We see a "2" getting formed. Then an "a" gets positioned to the right of it.

Variant[]

  • There is a startup variant of this. It consists of the a2 logo sliding from the bottom to the center. Then a slide puts it away to reveal the same logo. Then a slide puts that one away to reveal rendered lines while the logo slides in from the left to the center. Then a slide flies by and the slide gets re-rendered revealing the logo sliding down from the top to the center. Then the process starts again from the same logo revelation onward six more times. All the time we hear an extended version of the track, though it lacks the "passionately" part.
  • There is a Christmas variant where the A gets packaged in by the 2. The theme is also shorter.
  • There is a winter variant in which a white anthropomorphiv bear sings the song.

6th logo (1990-1992): We see fireworks. As that happens a blue rectangle gets formed on where a "2" gets posed. Then, from above, the word ANTENNE appears.

Music/Sounds[]

1st logo (1975-1983): Composed by Francois de Roubaix, we hear a loud descending pulse-wave synthesizer at the beginning, that then fades into an electronic warble with another electronic dripping sound once the antenna appears. Four ascending synth bell notes then play with a piano, then a different electronic warble, then the same synth notes and piano, but in a higher pitch. Another high electronic warble then plays, followed by the same synth/piano in a more higher pitch, then an even more higher repeat of the same 2 notes. This is followed by arpeggiating synths.

2nd logo (1975-1983): Composed by Michel Colombier, we hear a piece of Oboe and horn. It was meant to really be a sad song, given that he titled it as "Emmanuel", which refers to his dead son.

3rd logo (1983-1990): An instrumental piece consisting of oboe, drum and violin for the closedown variant. The startup is a more upbeat version of the closedown, with keyboards and drums.

Music/Sounds Variant[]

There is another variant with drum and synth.

4th logo (1987): A synthesised song. With the singer at the beginning singing "A A A2".

5th logo (1987-1990): A pop-like song with a lady singing "A2, A2. Passionately. A2, A2."

6th logo (1990-1992): A chorus.

Scare Factor[]

1st logo (1975-1983): Medium to nightmare, due to the very psychedelic visuals, tense music, and vector-animated nature, which has unnerved various French people at the time. Seen as this was used for programming announcements (except those for children, for which they used this instead) it may shock viewers expecting something like the calmer logos on TF1 or FR3. Seeing it was used only for the startup and closedown, anyone who watched this logo at a dark environment or at midnight - especially at closedown - makes the nature creepy enough for those who watched it. It's lower for those who are used or unaffected by it.

2nd logo (1975-1983): None. It's a high-quality effort and much less psychedelic than before.

3rd logo (1983-1990): Minimal, the logo has very bizarre, but ultimately harmless, animation. Most would find the logo's music peaceful.

4th logo (1987): None.

5th logo (1987-1990): None.

6th logo (1990-1992): Depending on the variant:

  • Normal and 1991: None to minimal, the fireworks and singing could get to some.
  • Startup: Minimal to low, the randomness could get to some.
  • 1992: Low, the zooming in and suddenness could get to some.
